Miso

Miso is a fermented paste of grain and soybeans. A highly nutritious basic Japanese foodstuff, mostly used for flavoring.
There are lot of varieties, but the basic categories are rice miso-made from rice, soybeans and salt; barley miso - made from barley, soybeans and salt; and soy bean miso – with only soybeans and salt.
Red Miso – Akamiso, which comprises about 75% of all rice miso, is red to brown in color and high in protein and salt .White miso – shiromiso , by contrast is rather sweet.

Ingredients contained in miso, such as unsaturated fat, isoflavon, Yeast and lactic acid are effective cancer preventatives. Studies have also shown that people who eat miso frequently are less susceptible to stomach diseases such as gastritis and duodenal ulcers. Miso ia also a source of dietary fibre, which cleans your intestines and is good for your bowels .

Vitamin E, daisein, saponin and the brown pigment contained in miso act as anti-oxidants, which are powerful inhibitors of the ageing process. Miso is also aids detoxification because the fermentation processes allow the large amounts of protein in the beans to be absorbed easily, which can help for Glowing skin and shiny hair.
